Pink and Pearls Birthday Cake

I would love to say that this cake was an original Leelee's Cake-abilities design, but it is not.  It actually is a celebrity cake created by Devine Designs and I replicated with a few minor details by the request of a very faithful client of mine.  She always has fabulous birthday cakes created by me. She knows exactly what she wants and how she wants it and until now I have not disappointed her. The flavor was bottom tier red velvet and the top tier, vanilla.  When she picked up the cake she was so happy.

American Girl "Coconut" doggie cake

This is a client that has the cutest little girls. She sometimes celebrates their birthdays together because the dates are so close.  I have had the privilege of making their cakes for quite a while now. I know I've made other cakes for them, but these are the ones I remember from the top of my head:
Wall- E Cake
Mickey Playhouse
Tangled
Toy Story

Thise year the girls wanted a cake that showed their favorite American Girl pet Coconut. I could have molded it, but I had already done something like that.  I wanted it to be fun and playful, almost cartoon like, so I did it this way and was so pleased with the results.  The bottom of the cake has the other little pets the AG have.  This cake was fairly small, 10x10 and 4 inches high. The flavor was vanilla bean with vanilla frosting.  Simple but delicious.

UM Graduation Cake

I totally loved making this cake for another one of my faithful clients.  Her hubby was graduating with his MBA and she wanted to make him a special cake that showed how proud she was of his achievement. The diploma is printed with edible ink on rice paper and then placed on a piece of fondant that I curled to give it the look of a diploma that was unrolled. The flavor: chocolate fudge with chocolate ganache.

Minnie cake and cupcakes red,

Always a challenge to work with red and black fondant without it looking ugly.  The most hardest colors to make!  I truly loved how this cake turned out. The client had gone to a party of another client of mine and contacted me and asked if I could make her little girls cake and cupcakes and I was happy to actually make a Minnie cake with her traditional colors. The bottom tier is a 10 inches by 5 inches high marble loaf with vanilla bean buttercream filling, the middle tier is an 8 in by 5 inches high vanilla cake with chocolate ganache filling, and the Minnie hat is a Chocolate loaf with cookies and cream filling. I also made cupcakes decorated with the hat and a bow, half were chocolate and half vanilla.  I loved, loved making this cake.

Jungle cake

This client went to a party and saw a cake I made and contacted me. She was very specific on what she wanted: a cake covered in chocolate buttercream with something on top that looked like dirt and leaves all around the sides. She had in mind placing little animals and a beautiful bunting that was personalized for her little boy. The flavor of the cake was vanilla bean with dulce de leche filling, and the milk chocolate buttercream covering the cake. Yes, the combo was awesome! I love how rustic and cute it came out.

Arabian Night Quince Cake

This client is the niece of a very dear friend of mine since high  school.  She wanted to make a cake for her little sister that was turning 15 and was worried because she had to drive the cake from Miami to Fort Myers.  I would say it is a good 3 hour drive from where I live.  The cake was intricate in it's design.  The top and bottom layers are six inches high and the middle layer is 4 inches high.  The flavor is marble with vanilla bean buttercream filling.  The number is made of equal parts of fondant and gumpaste and molded by hand.  the swirls are made of royal icing and gilded in edible 24 Karat gold. I made sure that the cake was sturdy enough for the ride reinforcing it with wooden dowel rods. I loved the colors the client selected" a deep purple, a pretty electric blue, and a fuchsia.  The cake had shimmer on it, but you can't really see it in the picture. I helped place the cake in the car at 7 am Saturday morning and literally prayed that it would make it in one piece.  I have not heard from the client yet, but believe everything went well.

Little Monster Dessert Table Elements

This is the most beautiful kids party I have ever had to make things for.  This client really knows what she wants.  Her eye for detail, color, and decor "takes the cake".  I was extremely impressed.  Her party should be showcased in a magazine or party blog!  I had the privilege of making most of her dessert table elements.

Tangled Cake and cookies

I made this cake for two precious little girls.  When the mom told me that the party was Tangled I got extremely happy because I knew exactly what I would do. This was a pretty large cake.  It is made out of marble loaf and rice cereal treats with vanilla bean frosting and covered with MMF. The middle support of the tower is a one inch dowel rod, 18 inches long that I covered with rice cereal treats, made by me (the store bought ones are a bit too soft for construction).  The rest is all cake.  I tried staying true to the colors of the invitations.  I know that next time I make this cake again, it will have even more details because I already have the experience.  This cake was so tall that it almost didn't fit in the car.  We had to pull out the peak of the tower, but that wasn't a problem because the customer only had to put it back again once at the venue.  I made cookies in the shape of crowns too. When the customer picked it up, she elated!  Yey!  I love happy customers!

Scuba Diver Cake

The client asked me if I could create a cake for her scuba diver boyfriend that pets sharks, yes sharks!!! Yikes! She mentioned several  elements she wanted on the cake: blond man with curly hair dressed in scuba gear, a diver's flag, a shark, marine life and for it to say "Happy 25th Birthday Brian".  She told me that as long as it had those elements that I could do what I wanted, so I did exactly that. When she picked it up, she was super happy with how it had turned out! Yey!  The diver, shark and flag are made out of tylose.  the coral and sea life, and the wood sign are made out of Marshmallow fondant. The water effect was made with piping gel tinted in turqouise.  The flavor was Leelee's Specialty Rum Flavor, covered in rum flavored buttercream and covered in MMF. Thanks for looking!

Baby in a Gift Box

I really loved how this cake turned out!  Love the baby's face! This is a three tier cake that serves 80 people.  The baby's head and lid are made of rice cereal treats.  I finally mastered a way without killing myself for the treats to come out completely smooth (my little secret). Flavor is Leelee's Specialty vanilla flavor and covered in vanilla bean buttercream and topped with Marshmallows fondant. The Mother to be was elated with how it turned out and I was delighted to have made her happy on her very special day!
