Pink Scallop Wedding Cake

I made this cake for a lovely couple.  She showed me a picture of a cake she liked and I replicated in, but I used a different tip for the effect. the cake is covered in fondant and decorated with buttercream that I tinted in two shades of pink.  I created two toppers for the cake. The reason why I did this was because I made the "C" out of gumpaste that I painted with edible silver, but I was worried that because of the humidity that we have in Miami it would not dry completely, so I also made a beautiful flower out of gumpaste in 4 shades of pink, just in case.  The letter dried and I was a happy camper. I will use the flower for something else soon. The cake was rum flavor.

Rainbow Bright Cake

Ok, it's been a while since I last posted any cakes, but I decided that I needed some time off and blocked a couple of weeks. I was contacted by this client which happens to be friends with another client of mine that heard from me from another client of mine that heard... well you get the picture.  The flavor for this cake bottom tier, leelee's vanilla specialty with dulce de leche filling, middle tier was yellow loaf with Oreo cookie buttercream,  and top tier was marble loaf with vanilla bean buttercream. The number and the figure are made of gumpaste.

Soccer Jersey

I was so excited in having the opportunity to make this cake for a young man through the wonderful organization Icing Smiles, Inc, thanks to my dear friend Rosie that told me about it.  I have always wanted to use my talent to make a difference in a person's life and this is one of the many ways. I am looking forward to more opportunities like this one.

The cake is a rum flavor with dulce de leche filling.  Everything is edible.  I was told that he wanted a cake with the Argentine soccer team.  I figured a Jersey with their colors and emblem with a soccer ball would do.  When the mom picked it up, she was very happy and gave me a big hug and proceeded to tell me about her younger son and his illness and all they have endured.  The cake was for his big brother.

Grey and Yellow Wedding Cake

I loved making this cake! I underestimated how long it would actually take me decorating it, but it truly was fun!  The client sent me a picture of a cake she liked and I replicated it with a few changes, but in a much larger scale.  The cake was to serve 100 people.  The bottom tier was and top tier are red velvet with creamcheese buttercream, and the middle tier was yellow cake with vanilla bean buttercream.  The parts that took so long making were the frill on the middle tier. I though I'd never finish, then  the chevron on the bottom tier, because it is tricky to cut the pieces and have the line up exactly where they should. This cake looks super simple, but it takes precision to get everything straight and polished looking.  I think I accomplished that.  I was so pleased to see that they everyone loved it.

Owl Cake

One of my good friends called me up and asked if I could make a cake for a family member of hers that was pregnant and wanted to reveal the gender of her baby to her family. I made the cake in colors that could be for a girl or a boy, but inside the cake was a bright pink.  Although it was a last minute cake that I literally baked and decorated the same day, I think it came out pretty darn cute!

Dallas Cowboys Cake

This cake was ordered by a client that wanted to surprise her boyfriend for his birthday.  The flavor is vanilla with vanilla frosting and then covered in fondant.

Belle Cake

This cake is for a little girl that loves Belle.  The skirt is cake.  I brushed it with gold and pear dust to give it a nice sheen.

Luau Cake

This cake were for a young girls Quinces.  The flavor is Leelee's specialty vanilla flavor with dulce de leche filling.  This cake was huge. All the elements are made of gumpaste.  Almost had a heart attack thinking that something would fall or break during the delivery.  It made it in one piece and the client loved it!

Winnie the Pooh Honey Pot Cake

This cake was for a little boy's first birthday.  The honey pot is made out of three 6 inch almond cakes with almond flavored buttercream.  Bottom layer is a 10x10x3.5 almond cake.

Damask Black & Gold Dessert Table

This very simple, but elegant dessert table was for a graduation party of a lovely young lady.  She had seen the dessert table that I had created for my daughter Ashley's 21st birthday party and she fell in love with the concept.  She showed me the invitation and asked me to incorporate the colors and design.  She wanted it to be sleek and elegant and that is exactly what I did. I send her a quote for 8 different elements. We agreed on what they would be.  I placed the elements in a symmetrical fashion and let the elements speak for themselves without stuff cluttering the table.  I was also a guest at the party and I could not believe how many people were impressed with my work and how professional everything looked. Not only did I get to enjoy a fabulous party with awesome hosts, but it also became an opportunity to network.

Cupcake Cake and, yes, Cupcakes

This was an 8xx8x4 chocolate cake with buttercream frosting topped with marshmallow fondant.  The cupcakes were all vanilla with buttercream.  the Cake topper is a big cookie in the shape of a cupcake and every cupcake was topped with a vanilla cookie sprinkled with sugar crystals.

Gift Box Shower Cake

I so enjoyed making these goodies.  The theme was pearls and gift boxes in brown and pink.  Super girly!  The flavor of this cake was my  moist Leelee's Vanilla Specialty cake, covered in dulce de leche and then covered in fondant.  Every element of this cake is edible.  The bottom part is an 8x3.5 round cake, and the top is an 8x2 cake  that I placed on top of fondant pieces resembling tissue paper with some uneven dowel rods to make the top tilt ever so slightly.  The pearls are made of
fondant and brushed with edible pearl dust.
I also made coconut cupcakes that I dusted with iridescent pink edible glitter (you can't really see in the picture) that made them shimmer and topped with candy pearls. I made cookies in the shape of bibs, rattles, onesies, and pacifiers.  Red velvet cakepops were a must, these were covered in milk chocolate covered in edible tiny pearls, and last, but not at all least I made marshmallows covered in tinted white chocolate and tiny pearls.
The mommy to be was really happy with the goodies!
