This was a fun cake!!! I made it for a bridal shower where the theme was... you guessed it... Lighthouses! This cake is edible top to bottom (except for the base and the dowel holding the light house). Details are made of royal icing and MMF.The Lighthouse

Jonas Brother's Guitar Cake
I enjoyed making this cake so much. It was for a little girl that loves the Jonas Brother's. This guitar can be made to look more grown up, like for a Teen that loves the JB too by using other colors and giving more texture to the actual fondant. The flavor of the cake was vanilla with vanilla bean flavored butter cream before adding the top layer of MMF. I made a 14 x14x3 inch square cake to carve the guitar box and then an 8 x8x3 square pan to make the long part of the guitar with hardly any cake to waste after carving.Click on picture to see larger

Zebra and Purple party
I made a small cake with cupcakes. This was a bachelorette party and the theme was zebra and purple. I use elements I had around the house. I printed some pictures of the girl and her fiance and added it to the cake. I took some lunch bags and placed prizes inside and decorated them with some zebra and purple paper. Made little vignettes here and there clustering things and it was a lovely party.
Indoor Picnic
For Father's Day we had an indoor picnic (weather outside was horrid). A white tablecloth with a red and white gingham material draped carelessly over the table, a basket filled with silverware wrapped with napkins tied with a piece of frayed gingham ribbon, a galvanized giant bucket with sodas and ice in it, a rustic watering can and a bottle with daisies in it, great people and delicious food made this indoor affair a hit.
Christmas Entertaiment
During the holidays it is tradition for us to make a big deal in preparing our favors and having a nice presentation for dinnerI made my centerpiece inspired on individual centerpieces I saw in a Scrapbooking magazine. Basicallyit is made out of felt cut in a tree shape and hand sewn with lots of buttons and fun ribbons. I stuffed them with pillow stuffing, put in a dowel and placed them inside a pretty holiday tin through some Styrofoam that I hid with shimmery tissue paper resembling snow. I made the favor boxes from a template I'd downloaded from the internet using pretty scrapbooking paper and placed some fancy white chocolate and milk chocolate bonbons inside and continued the christmas tree theme. For the napkin rings I used the same little tree and cardstock. I then scanned one of the the trees and created the menus in Photoshop and made the place cards. Instead of writting people's names I opted for a picture of every guest. I used red charges and beautiful berry cups to complement the decor. Everyone thought everything looked so pretty.
